Fukamushi Sencha Green Tea is a relatively new style of Sencha, first developed by a Tea garden in Shizuoka. It has gained sweeping popularity among Japanese connoisseurs. The Fukamushi (Deep-Steam) process requires special handling and a longer steaming time than that used for traditional Sencha Tea. The extra steaming breaks down the fibers further and cause the leaf shape to be coarser than regular Sencha Tea. This produces a tea with a darker color, deeper flavor and easy brewing.
